ROOM 13 and <wirdnachgereicht> are pleased and honored to host
Invisible Flock in Basel.
The award-winning artists invite you to experience Boalno - atop a mountain in the Indigenous-governed Sápmi in the Arctic. 3,000 reindeer circle around you as nature and centuries of Sámi tradition meet - a transcendent moment amidst the excitement of Art Basel week.
Boalno, an immersive sound installation, invites you to reflect on the power and beauty of human-animal reciprocity and our global connection with Arctic lands. Boalno was created by Invisible Flock in collaboration with Jenni Laiti and Carl-Johan Utsi.
Presented alongside will be Teardrops of Our Grandmother a film by Jenni Laiti and Carl-Johan Utsi. A poetic meditation on the precarity of survival in an endangered world, urging humans to slow down and give nature time to heal.
Invisible Flock fuses technology and natural materials collaborating with environments and communities to form layered understandings of place, working across sectors to have a creative impact on ecology, politics, health and society.
